Men's Playdown Update
The 2012 Brier Playdowns are officially underway!

As of the entry deadline we have 9 teams that will be competing in the District playdown at the Highwood Curling Club, High River - Dec. 16-18/11 and 8 teams entered in the Districts at the Granite Club, Coaldale -
Jan. 6-8/12.

From these two events, 12 teams (High River - 6 and Coaldale - 6) will advance to  the Southern Playdowns at the Inglewood Curling Club - Jan. 20-23/12.  Joining the playdown will be the four teams that have pre-qualified.

Congratulations to the Brent Bawel and Steve Petryk teams for earning the CTRS qualifying spots and the
Dean Ross and Vance Elder teams qualifying from the Alberta Tour.  A special congratulations goes out to the
Brock Virtue team for qualifying from the Alberta Tour directly to the Boston Pizza Cup Provincial Championship to be held in Camrose - Feb. 8-12/12.

The Senior Men's Playdowns are also underway with 29 teams registering for Districts.  There will be 9 teams playing in the Crowsnest Curling Club, Coleman - Dec. 16-18/11 fighting for 5 Southern spots and 20 teams competing at the Inglewood Curling Club - Jan. 13-15/12 for 11 berths into the Dominion Senior Southern playdown - North Hill Community Curling Club,

Good luck to all !!

Master Playdowns Update

The Master Districts will not be held this year.

We currently have 16 teams entered into this year’s Master’s Playdowns. In an effort to allow maximum participation, a decision has been made to close the entries at 3:30 pm January 10, 2012 OR when we have reached 24 entries (whichever comes first).
If we do not receive any additional entries, the Southern Playdown will be a 16 team Triple Knockout. If, by the deadline, we have more than 16 teams, the Southerns will be a Double Knockout.

The Southern Playdown will be at the Calgary Curling Club, February 3 – 6, 2012.

Please note as we have stated previously, this change is only for this year due to the closure of the Odgen Legion.

Thank you
