The 2011 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors Curling Championships are being held in Calgary.  Competition will take place at the North Hill Community Curling Club and The Glencoe Club, Jan. 29th – Feb. 6th.  For event information, and volunteering or sponsorship opportunities please contact:

A program has been established by the Southern Alberta Curling Association to distribute funds generated from the 2009 Brier 50/50 raffle to qualified affiliated curling clubs.

The four Men's teams that are pre-qualified to the Southern's based on CTRS points and ACF tour ranking are as follows:
 

CTRS Points:
Brent Bawel - 28.66 points
Steve Petryk - 16.66 points

ACF Tour Points:
Leon Moch - 9 points
Dean Ross - 5 points (Dean Ross was in a 3-way tie with Tim Krassman and Steve Mackey.  Dean’s team advances based on the 3rd tie-breaker criteria (shown below) – highest CTRS ranking – Dean has won the tie with 11.02 CTRS points).


Tie-Breaking Policy (posted 26/08)

If two or more teams are tied for this berth spot, the tie-breaking policy is as follows:

 If tied, the team with the most first place finishes on the Alberta TOUR will receive the berth.

b)                    If still tied, the team with the most second place finishes on the Alberta TOUR will receive the berth.

c)                    If still tied, the team with the highest CTRS ranking following the weekend of the last Alberta TOUR event will receive the berth.

d)                    If still tied, the berth will be decided by a coin flip.

Please note:  Entries for the  2009-2010 Master Women's playdowns will be monitored this year throughout the Province.  If there is not an increase in entries, the topic of eliminating this category will be discussed and voted on at the 2010 ACF AGM.
