LETHBRIDGE CURLING CLUB
GENERAL MANAGER - JOB POSTING

 The Lethbridge Curling Club wishes to invite qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of General Manager of the Lethbridge Curling Club.

 The Lethbridge Curling Club, founded in 1887, has a long history of providing Lethbridge and surrounding area with a first class curling experience.  Our Club has proven itself on the local, provincial and national stages to have a dedicated membership that continues to grow the sport of curling through our many leagues, dedication to our youth, and our strong community spirit. 

The General Manager will report the Club President and the Lethbridge Curling Club Board of Directors.  The successful applicant will have very good communication and organizational skills.  Working to maintain the vision of the Club, the applicant must have and maintain a willingness to promote membership, sponsorship and participation in the sport of curling. 

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of management experience
  • Working knowledge or experience with food and beverage operations
  • Basic knowledge of ice making skills, equipment and techniques
  • Public relations and marketing skills
  • Curling experience and background
  • Positive attitude toward curling and sport in general and its importance in community culture

 Short-listed candidates will be required to make a short presentation to the Board of Directors.

Salary and benefits negotiable based on applicants qualifications.

Ice Technician

The Medicine Hat Curling Club is accepting applications for a Head Ice Technician.  The Medicine Hat Curling Club is a twelve sheet facility with multiple daily and evening draws. We are the host of the 2010 Canada Cup in December and this will be a great opportunity to learn from some of the best and most experienced ice technicians.

This position is responsible, but not limited to:

-          hiring and supervising ice attendants

-          ice making and ice maintenance

-          general facility maintenance

-          attend monthly staff meetings and report to the Board of Directors

Ice Technician

The Cochrane Curling Club requires an experienced Ice Technician for the upcoming September 2010 - April 2011 season.

This is a busy 4 sheet private club in the beautiful town of Cochrane with a full compliment of Senior and High School curling during the day along with club leagues and bonspiels during the evenings and weekends.

Modern up to date equipment along with experienced assistants to make your life a little easier.

Compensation determined by experience.

The Sherwood Park Curling Club is accepting applications for an Ice Technician.  Applicants must have a level 1 Curling Ice Technician Certificate, Level 2 is an asset.  The Sherwood Park Curling Club is a very active 8 sheet Curling Club operating 7 days a week from late September to early April.  The Club is located in the Glen Allan Recreation Complex in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

This is a supervisory position and job duties include ice making and maintenance, supervision and training of ice attendants, general facility maintenance and various other duties as required.  This is an 8 month position starting in Mid-Late August to Mid-Late April.
