The Canadian Curling Association recognizes the need to develop and implement a National Curling Officials Certification Program.  The objective is to establish standard guidelines for the training and development of curling officials who will be capable of officiating at a northern, provincial/territorial or national championship.

LEVEL I - Game Observer, Time Keeper and Hogline Official
  • Requirements:  attend a Level I Officials Technical course, pass an officiating exam and complete the practical requirements.
     
  • Practical Requirements:  must serve as a game observer, timing official and/or hog line official at a supervised championship for a minimum of 6 games under the direction of a certified Head Official.

LEVEL II - Provincial Supervising Official

  • Requirements:  Level I certification, attend a Level II Officials technical course, pass an officiating exam and complete the practical requirements.
     
  •  Practical Requirements: must serve as a supervising official for a minimum of 6 games at a supervised championship under the direction of a certified Head Official.

LEVEL III - Provincial Head Official

  • Requirements:  Level II certification, serve as an Alternate Head Official at two (2) Provincial Championships, receive a positive evaluation.
     
  • Recommendation by SACA Head of Officials and SACA Board of Directors
     
  • Appointment by ACF on a need basis

LEVEL IV - National Supervising Official

  • Appointment on a need basis by the CCA

LEVEL V - National Head Official

  • Appointment on a need basis by the CCA
